About Jerilyn Weber...
Jerilyn Weber, a recognized animal
portrait artist, has recently turned her attention to producing beautiful paper
collage paintings. Using images she has painted in watercolor and also
photographs of oriental rugs, rich fabrics, foliage and other images which the
world of print has to offer, Ms. Weber creates paintings which are multilayered
in their appeal. The images are both lifelike and imaginative. At first glance,
the images seem real. A closer look reveals an ambiguity which allows the viewer
to fill in missing information. Drawing upon her background as an animal
portrait artist, Ms. Weber's subjects are frequently horses, fish, birds, and
other living creatures. Ms.
Weber exhibits regularly and has received numerous awards for her work. Ms.
Weber was a first place winner in the New York Dog Fanciers 2002 and 2003
Contemporary Dog Art Competitions. And, most recently, Ms. Weber received the
first place award for her collage work at the 2004 NY Dog Fanciers competition.
She has been featured in several national publications including "Canine
Images" magazine, "Equine Visions Magazine", and "Polo
Player's Edition." She is a founding member of the NJ Equine Artists
Association.
