About Kathleen Groom...
As a primarily self-taught artist,
with the exception of adult classes in oil painting, I have always found immense
satisfaction in avenues of productive self-expression. Balancing this philosophy
with raising a family, attending college, and achieving a full-time nursing
career has allowed me limited resources to further explore my artistic
potential. However, I have zealously pursued novel means of creative, aesthetic
illustration in an effort to empower the radiant flow of diversity from palette
to composition. Hence, my
prime motivational force has been the ever-changing beauty of nature in harmony
with humanity via oil painting and watercolors. Thus, I have chosen to focus
subsequent compositions on a variety of themes including botany, architecture,
historical sites, nostalgia, and humanistic portraiture. Each original creation
is actualized with perceptual awareness and objective depiction. The indulgence
of my artistic inclination has yielded the opportunity to successfully
participate in numerous exhibits.
